Auditioning jitters

Jitters - try tremors!

Since I've been out here working for a few years now, my relationship to auditioning/performing has changed somewhat. At some point I crossed over from fearing them to actually really enjoying them. So, my empathy for how terrifying it can be was numbed somewhat.

Until one specific audition.

Thanks, I just had a super nerve jangling audition and even though I got the part, I'd like to not be that nervous for my future auditions. This is sound advice.

Oh, just to add about sharing the experience, the room spun, my hands shook and I almost couldn't breathe. Strange as I have done auditions many times and was never that nervous. I kicked myself afterward and was totally down and out on myself. I can handle most bad auditions but not when where I succumb to a panic attack. The next morning I got the part.

My bit of advice it to stay off the emotional roller coaster and focus on what is next. Do not dwell on the bad auditions as that will give the jitters ammo for the next audition. Play it up, have fun at the audition and let it go. By this, you'll be your own best friend by having self support.
